World-renowned and up-coming artists are using Speedball Underglazes exclusively due to their incredible performance, value, and versatility. Ideal for detailed painting, sgraffito decoration, watercolor effects, free brush painting, screen printing, and mishima decoration, these opaque underglazes are designed to perform in a wide firing range, from Cone 05 – 6, and have been successfully fired to Cone 10.

Create Depth & Character Speedball Underglazes allow you to create designs and patterns that will appear through the glaze covering them, giving your work more visual depth and character. While they are often used under clear glazes, they can also be used under other, generally light-colored, transparent glazes.

In the Studio These underglazes can be applied to greenware and bisqueware, and the colors will not move or flow during firing. For best results, apply 3 liberal coats and use with Speedball Earthenware or Stoneware Clear Glaze. All colors are dinnerware safe when used and fired as directed, are lead-free and carry the AP Seal.
